This Department is headed by a Director in-charge of tasks undertaken with the Agency’s workforce. The workforce is utilized extensively in direct labour works when a road repair or maintenance project is executed by the Agency’s field office using its own labour, materials and equipment. The essence of carrying out direct labour maintenance operations is to rapidly deploy men and materials to effectively curtail and tackle any road emergency.
In addition, in cases where paucity of funds may hinder the immediate procurement of road maintenance contracts, direct labour activities is most efficient and ensures continuous maintenance and repairs of the roads.
