GORONYO TAKES OVER SUPERVISION OF FERMA

The Honourable Minister of Works, Senator (Engr.) David Umahi, has formally handed over the supervisory role of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation (OSGoF) to the Honourable Minister of State, Muhammad Bello Goronyo, Esq.

The handover ceremony took place during a meeting with the Agencies’ Management and FERMA Board members recently.

Engr. Umahi thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Minister Goronyo to superintend over the Agencies of the Ministry. He urged the Two Agencies to remain patriotic and focused on national service. He emphasized the need to prioritize integrity and God’s guidance in their operations while advocating for increased budgetary support to achieve their mandates.

Goronyo expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to maintain an open-door policy for innovative ideas. He urged FERMA to collaborate effectively so as to deliver on the agenda of the Federal Government.

The MD/CEO, FERMA, Dr. Chukwuemeka Agbasi, assured the Ministers of his commitment to achieving the Ministry’s objectives.

Minister Goronyo also held a follow-up meeting to discuss innovative funding models and requested detailed work plans to enhance operational efficiency.

The Minister has since swung into action. He visited projects in Lagos and Ogun States where he commissioned 104 Solar Lights at Isale-Eko, Lagos and inspected the Construction of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP) along Ijora Causeway in Lagos State.

He is scheduled to tour some States in the North West zone from tomorrow 17th December, 2024.
