The Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, (FERMA) organized an extensive five day training workshop on Capacity Building on Road Maintenance and Management Solutions (RMMS), on 15th-19th July, 2019 at the Agency’s Headquarters, Abuja.
The Programme organized for key engineers was facilitated by Jafaz Global Technologies.
The essence of the training was to implement the use of CivilCAD, a civil engineering software for Road design, construction, maintenance and management. The software, meant to help achieve the following goals: Earthworks and Quantities control, enhance accuracy by fine-tuning the design along the project progress, effectively cost the rehabilitation projects and improve skill of supervision of project work will invariably reduce cost and save about 30% of the Agency’s resources.
These goals are obviously in tandem with the benefits RMMS offers being: Optimizing cost of Infrastructure maintenance; economic prioritization of budget according to people needs; fully integrated item inventory and maintenance treatments; bridges and road structures database (RDB); store construction history; bridges and road structures performance analysis; network optimization; work planning (M&R); charts & reports engine; full integration with other applications for network maintenance, data mining and data export.
The programme which was interactive offered a unique and professional tool for easier, faster, precise designing and surveying to enable the engineers get the job done in a quick and effective way.

The modules included:
i. Failure Assessment and Road Maintenance Computation using CivilCAD 2016

ii. Bridge Load Rating and Bridge Integrity Assessment using MIDAS Civil.
